South Suffolk and the Stour Valley contain a rich mix of habitats, including more than 1,600 hectares of woodland—half of it ancient—alongside floodplain meadows, old hedgerows, veteran trees, and wildlife-friendly field margins.

CCGC is restoring these habitats and creating new ones so nature can thrive. Our work focuses on species most at risk, including Turtle Doves, Nightingales, and Hazel Dormice, all of which have seen steep declines in recent decades.
